Awakened Alien

It's funny; when Alien was being created, HR Giger stated that the creature not having eyes made it scarier, as you didn't know if it was looking at you.  Yet, the suit did indeed have eyes and nostrils.  I've read tons of behind the scenes stuff for the series, yet I never really learned about why this was the case, if it was an artistic decision, or done to make the actor's job easier.  I wouldn't mind seeing this style come back in some form of media, though it should be be done carefully; the eyes should be completely dead and cavernous, not the pleading puppy dog eyes of Resurrection's Newborn.  The eyeless face it still the best and most inhuman and evocative.

Maybe you've read about this, but during the production of Alien, Dan O'Bannon came up with the idea of the Alien's offspring being more intelligent and 'civilized' than its parent, being born through the egg morph process.  While I wouldn't want to see an Alien sitting down and sipping tea, there is potential for this concept.  Imagine a xenomorph with all of the intelligence of human, but with the same raw, pure instinctual fury that a regular Alien has.  From a human perspective, it would be the ultimate psychopath, in the strictest sense of the medical term, and would truly be the 'perfect organism' that Ash talked about.  Imagine a whole race of these things, with space travel any everything.  They would make the Borg look like tribbles.
